James Stanley “Stan” Bradley, Sr.

Spartanburg, SC:  James Stanley Bradley, Sr. “Stan” 75, passed away peacefully at his home on August 1, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 30, 1943 in Spartanburg County, SC. He was the son of the late John H. Bradley and Ruby Bradley Varner and step son of Harold Varner. Grandparents were the late Lewis J. and Dora Banks Wood, and Von H. and Sophie Cook Bradley.

Stan was the owner of Laundry Systems of the Carolinas. He was a member of Roebuck Baptist Church. He loved to play softball. He sponsored and played softball for the church and open league teams. He loved to watch the Atlanta Braves.

Surviving him are his fiancé and caregiver Becky McAbee of Moore; sons Stan Bradley, Jr. (Tammy) of Corryton, TN and Chad Bradley (Erin) of Spartanburg; a daughter Cynthia B. Chandler (Jeff) of Pauline; sisters Lynne B. Lewis (Ray) of Campobello and Janice B. Moon of Chesnee; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a granddaughter Logan Chandler.

He is also survived by Becky’s children Eric McAbee (Karen) and Jennifer Burnett (Shannon); three grandchildren and one great grandson. They considered Stan their stepdad and papa.

The family will receive friends 1:00 - 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 4, 2018 at the Petty-Bobo Funeral Chapel, 1860 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg, SC  29307. Funeral services will follow in the chapel conducted by Rev. Tim Williams and Rev. Scott Lewellen. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 1955 Cannons Campground Rd., Spartanburg.
