David (Bear) Anthony Shafto

Boiling Springs SC: David (Bear) Anthony Shafto, 46, passed away Monday April 9, 2018. He was the husband of Andrea Shafto, and the son of Constance Trippe Shafto.

He was a firefighter and police officer for over 20 years. He served as a firefighter and police officer in Sea Girt, New Jersey and recently served as a commissioner for North Spartanburg Fire Department. He was a gentle soul who loved serving his family, friends and the community.

In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter Lyndsay Shafto of Boiling Springs; two sons Christopher Shafto of New Jersey and Alex DeLeon of Spartanburg; a godson Nicholas Lufkin of Spartanburg; an aunt Susan Olsen (Arthur) of Atlantic Highlands, N.J,; an uncle Richard Trippe of Manchester, N.J.; a cousin Joseph Shafto, Jr. (Pam) of Brick, N.J.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday April 15, 2018 at North Spartanburg Fire Department Station #3, 2621 New Cut Road, Spartanburg.

Memorial may be made to Spartanburg Explorers Post 203, 8767 Asheville Hwy, Spartanburg, SC 29316.
