Dorothy Skates Obituary
Dorothy Dean Skates, 88, passed away on March 25, 2024. She was the wife of the late Darvin Melvin Skates and the daughter of the late Oscar and Bertha Hester.
She enjoyed gardening, flowers and raising chickens.
Dorothy is survived by a son, Grady Skates (Lou Ann); daughters, Kathy Skates Powell and Julie Jenkins; brothers, Buddy, Junior, Gary and Eddie; sisters, Ann, Virginia and Helen; ten grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and her beloved dog, Blondie.
She is predeceased by brothers, Howard, Jimmy and Woodrow; and sisters, Jewel and Ruby.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Bobo Funeral Chapel. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Bobo Funeral Chapel. Dr. Ron “PR” Culbertson will be conducting the service. Burial will be at Daniel Morgan Memorial Gardens.
