John A. McClellan

SPARTANBURG, SC:    John Alonzo McClellan “Lonnie”, 99, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Regional Hospice Home.   He was a devoted husband to the late Erlene Hughes McClellan for 62 years.  He was also the son of the late Arthur Benjamin and Gertrude Hatcher McClellan.

He is the loving father of Diann M. Lamb (Keith) of Spartanburg, SC; and grandfather of two grandsons, Stephen Lamb (Angela) of Boiling Springs, SC and Shannon Lamb (Karla) of Pacolet, SC.   He was also a wonderful great grandfather to  Joshua, Brycen and Mallory Faith Lamb.  He was predeceased by four brothers, Lee, Roy, J.D., and Carl McClellan.

Mr. McClellan was a member of Cudd Memorial Baptist Church and former member and deacon of Drayton Baptist Church.   He retired as a loom instructor after 45 years with Drayton Mills and was a veteran with the U.S. Army during WWII where he served in Japan.  He was also past Master of Drayton Masonic Lodge #360.

Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Bobo Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 p.m. officiated by Rev. Jack Hames, Rev. Ronnie Norris, and Rev. Dusty Martin. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
