Jerry W. Simms

SPARTANBURG, SC:   Jerry Wayne Simms, 66, husband of Barbara Elaine Peahuff Simms, passed away at home September 1, 2017.  He was the son of the late Charles Athens Simms and Nettie Louise McGraw Simms.

In addition to his wife he is survived by three sons, Rev. Billy Harris (Teresa), Johnny E. Harris (Melanie), and Marshall D. Harris, all of Cowpens; 4 grandsons, Bobby, Tyler, Aaron and Randall; 5 granddaughters, Amanda, Amy, Lacey, Ashley, and Bethany; 3 great grandsons; 1 great granddaughter; and many cousins.

Mr. Simms was a loving, caring, and humble man with a great love for his family.  He was a member of White Plains Baptist Church, a machine operator at R. R. Donnelley & Sons for 13 years, a NASCAR enthusiast, and enjoyed his ice cream and gardening.

Visitation will be 2:00-4:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 5, at White Plains Baptist Church.  Funeral service will follow at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. Bob Finley officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.
