Dorothy Alexander

INMAN, SC:  Dorothy Cumalander Alexander, 93, widow of Ralph C. Alexander, passed away June 24, 2016, at Rosecrest Nursing Home.   Born in Newberry County, SC, she was the daughter of the late Louis Thompson Cumalander and Annie Hentz Cumalander. 

In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by brothers, Louie and Ralph Cumalander and cousins, Margaret Ross and Juanita Inman.  She is survived by a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Alexander was a telephone operator with Southern Bell for 40 years and a member of the Spartanburg Council of Telephone Pioneers.  A former resident of Spartanburg, she was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church.

Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. before the 2:00 p.m. service, Monday, June 27, at Bobo Funeral Chapel officiated by The Reverend Emily M. Edenfield.   Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
