Betty Prescott

SPARTANBURG, SC:  Betty Ruth McSwain Loflin Prescott, 84, wife of Virgil “Butch” Prescott, died June 26, 2016, at Eden Terrace.  Born in Blacksburg, she was a daughter of the late Otis and Lucy Upchurch McSwain.  

Mrs. Prescott was a retired printer from Arrow Automotive and formerly attended Southern Shops Baptist Church.  She enjoyed bird watching, dancing and singing, and will be greatly missed by her family. 

She is survived by a son, Wayne Loflin (Pauline) of Summerville, SC; a sister, Maxine M. Lee of Spartanburg, SC; three grandsons, Michael Loflin of Lima, OH, Patrick Loflin of Cincinnati, OH, and Billy Loflin (Holly) of Charleston, SC.  She was predeceased by a brother, J.D. McSwain and a sister, Joanne M. Owens.

Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Bobo Funeral Chapel officiated by Rev. Brian Harris.   Visitation will be 1:00-2:00 p.m. before the service.

The family appreciates the staff at Eden Terrace, family, friends, acquaintances, and Butch’s dedicated care to Betty.
